Cruise Cush was created by a pediatric nurse Misty Deneen and a certified child life specialist Lisa Beltran after years of witnessing how stressful hospital transport can be for children. We designed a removable comfort solution to help those moments feel calmer and less scary.

Hospitals should be places of healing, yet for children they often feel scary and overwhelming. As a pediatric nurse and child life specialist we saw too many young patients frightened by cold, intimidating equipment, or worse, hurt by the hard metal rails of hospital gurneys. Parents worry, staff struggle to comfort them, and children endure unnecessary stress in an already difficult moment. That inspired Cruise Cush, a pediatric-friendly gurney bumper system that helps reduce risk of injury while transforming sterile hospital beds into comforting, themed environments.
As a Child Life Specialist, I instantly saw the value in what Cruise Cush is creating. Themed bumpers like these would completely change the tone of the gurney. It's such a thoughtful, child centered design.
